Yoga and Mindful Awareness

“Let go, and the wave’s crest will carry you to unknown shores, beyond your wildest dreams or destinations. Let it all go and find the place of rest and peace, and certain transformation.” - Danna Faults, Poems from the Heart of Yoga

Yoga and mindful awareness are powerful, sacred and ancient practices rooted in Eastern tradition. I first began exploring these practices as a young girl naturally moving into what I later learned were yoga postures (asana). Seeking deeper connection with South Indian ancestors, I continued my studies with both yoga and later meditation, completing my first yoga teacher training in 1994. Sadly, I had internalized the messages all around me - I didn’t think I “looked like a yoga teacher.” Nearly 30 years later, I have worked hard to free myself from these internalized messages and feel moved to share the yoga and mindfulness practices that I love.

These practices are meant to support evolution…. they are about transformation of the personal, the communal, and the world - including yoga. To me, it is vital that I teach what lives and grows in me and is integrated through my life. So, what I offer is my expression of these beautiful practices… I would love to share this with you!

Ease and Flow Yoga on Sundays 9-10:15 am (in-person and virtual) with Shraddha Yoga, Hadley, MA

We live in a world where we are pulled to do more, get more, go faster.  Like being in a car with a stuck gas pedal, we can find ourselves caught in a cycle of rushing and disconnection from what matters most to us.  This class is designed to support us in regaining our sense of ease and flow so that we can experience deep connectedness and rest.  Through the ancient embodied practices of asana (postures), pranayama (breath practice) and Yoga Nidra (deep rest), we bring mindful awareness to areas of tension and stress, noticing where we are holding, and learning to let go.  This class is designed to be welcoming and accessible to all.
