Engaging the Next Generation

This webinar from the Chronicle of Philanthropy discusses how your organization can connect with donors in their 20s and early 30s. Younger donors, volunteers and stakeholders require new methods of engagement.  The Webinar will be followed with a small group discussion.  Community Shares of Wisconsin will share how they developed a social media plans and lead a discussion on ways to overcome the challenges of incorporating social media into your current marketing strategies.  Special office hours will be available for one-one consultation with Mitchael Schwartz.  Mitchael will offer technical advice and suggestions for starting, improving or evaluating your organization’s social media strategies.  Office hours and times will be determined by mid-September.

Mitchael Schwartz is a doctoral student at the University of Wisconsin's School of Journalism and Mass Communication.  His research interests revolve around the intersection of digital media and civic engagement, including community journalism and online political activism. As Community Outreach Editor for the community news site Madison Commons, he manages social media for the site.  He has worked with Community Shares of Wisconsin (CSW) to provide a series of Social Media Workshops for member nonprofits; he has also served as consultant to CSW regarding their social media strategies.
